Intro Is the US Army about to invade our streets? I'm Jim Drastic. I'm Tiffany Drastic. And I'm Nick Canudson. And today on the Dangerous Ones, we're talking about a memo written by the Department of Army deployment Homeland Security that was leaked and published on Sunday in the New Republic. And it ain't good. The memo, which was written by Philip Hegsathth, the brother of Defense Secretary Pete Hegsath, reveals that top officials in the Trump administration have discussed significantly expanding the deployment of US military forces inside the United States to support mass deportation operations. The memo, which was circulated among both the DHS and Pentagon, calls for the US military, including the National Guard and potentially regular Army units to take a much larger ongoing role in assisting ICE in the removal of undocumented migrants, even suggesting that these deployments could be required for years to come. You guys ready to have uh the military be your neighbors? Yeah. It's like the Empire Strikes Back. You need the, you know, you need that music that I know down the streets. Okay. This is bad all around. Oh my god. So, I mean, this is what they're This is how this has been heading, you know. Yeah. Fascism 101. Great. DHS memo Uh, real quick, uh, the leaked DHS memo warns that the unrest, like what, uh, happened in Los Angeles earlier this year, is likely to spread as immigration ramps up. So they know as they ramp up this these immigration raids that the people are going to rise up, right? We're going to rise up. Uh the memo it it doesn't just acknowledge the resistant. It expects us Military force to resist. They expect us to resist. And instead of diffusing it, the plan is to meet it with military force. Uh they're not trying to avoid the unrest. They're planning around it. Gross. Oh, good. Yay. I mean, we know we're in Portland. you know, yeah, we we're not new. We've seen this movie before to a certain extent just in terms of like the at least the threat of, you know, militarization, you know, in the face of public resistance. But uh it's uh this is real [ __ ] Yeah. And we were just talking to a friend of all of ours on the phone the other day and she was expressing to us, she's a naturalized citizen. She came from South America and she was telling us I I I I guess I didn't even think about it. and she was telling us how she was worried. She's been, you know, she's been here for many, many years as family and kids legally here about how she's worried about getting snatched up and she now plans her day and how she goes about her day around that threat. Dude, it's so scary. It's just heartbreaking. It's heartbreaking. Tiffany, what are the rules behind this? What are the laws behind this? Um, can Trump and uh DOJ and and and the and the DHS and the Pentagon, can they do this? Well, I mean, it's complicated. You have this thing called the Posi Kamatus Act, right, which came about in the 1800s, and it came after the collapse of the reconstruction of the Civil War. When Positatus Act Rutherford Hayes got the keys to the White House, he had to make a deal with southern states to withdraw his troops from the South because they were protecting black civil rights down there. And so he did. He removed the the military and all hell broke loose down there. And to this day, it's a [ __ ] show. That's why I don't trust people named Rutherford. Right. So, Congress enacted a special law. The president cannot use the military's force against civilians on American soil because some [ __ ] is happening. That is the point of local law enforcement. That's why we have sheriffs. That's why we have police. And this law exists only if uh the president doesn't enact a special law which is the insurrection act. Now if he invokes the insurrection ask uh if he invokes the insurrection act posi commatatus will be suspended and he doesn't have to ask anyone's permission. He doesn't need to ask the governor of California because this is you know California LA is the dress rehearsal for what's about to happen here. He doesn't need to ask permission. He can just do it if he invokes the insurrection act and the last time it was invoked was during the Rodney King riots in California. Right. Right. Yeah. They are they are planning for violence. Yeah. And when you have a president who is doing a dress rehearsal for being a fascist, you know. Uh so, you know, one plus one is two scary stuff. Nick, what do you know? Uh well, first of all, I was today years Phil Haggs old when I learned that uh Pete Haggs's brother Phil worked as a senior adviser to Christy Gnome at the Department of uh Homeland Security. Oh, good. I mean, what the heck? He is uh like his brother, he is exceptionally qualified. Uh he he was a he was a creator. Uh and he did, I will say, you know, are you talking about an influencer like a creator like a a content creator? digital creator who also uh founded his own podcasting company. So he's like he's one of us. I'm going tell you right now that I cannot run any part of DHS, Homeland Security. I am not qualified. Neither is he. Well, he's in the perfect spot because he's he's basically like a liaison between DHS and his brother at the at the Department of Defense. And by leazison, you mean loyalist. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So like context of this meeting where this memo came out of this was Pete uh Pete's brother Phil uh and other DHS officials basically making a presentation to uh Secretary Hegsth uh the chairman of the Joint Chiefs and a bunch of other like military brass. Gotcha. And it was Phil and Pete working together to do a dog and pony show for for the generals, right? To say like, "Hey guys, this is serious business. Uh we're under attack. You got we're under attack. These cartels are coming in. It's basically like, you know, there are terrorists on our soil. Oh my god. Uh so they're they're just priming the pump and trying to get everybody uh get those guys ready to give the thumbs up to deploying military and on on our I guess they're poaching like local sheriffs and police that that governors. Even Ronda Santis and I can't believe I'm [ __ ] saying this. Ronda Santis is like, "Hey everybody, uh don't take the jobs. Don't take the jobs with eyes. Do not let them take our sheriffs because it undermines their local law enforcement there. Yeah, for sure. Um they they definitely um you know, they're definitely priming the pump for the military because the one thing about the military is especially the US military, they're like what are we doing? You know what I mean? you know, um, and, uh, but they're priming the pump because they are, from what I understand, uh, with this leaked memo is they want the military at first, at least to be in a strategic role where they're helping ICE and and and whatnot plan these raids. And folks, we are only six, seven months into this thing. Um, this is going to get scary. Uh, it already is, but it's going to get even more scary. We're already seeing the videos across social media. Thank God for that because that's waking people up. But uh if if I start to see military officers out here outside of our doors here at TDO Studios, I'm going to [ __ ] start [ __ ] a brick and start, you know, I'm going to go out there with a sign because or something, you know? And that's the point. The point is to that's what authoritarians do. That's what fascism does, right? They scare us with the military. They tell us don't Playbook 101 believe our own eyes and ears by dropping their dumbass propaganda. They start pitting making us scared of each other and making an enemy out of someone who's not our enemy at all. This is like this is playbook 101. Yep. Absolutely. Uh but the folks uh but folks, what can we do about it now? Right? What can we do? Uh and unfortunately, the best thing we can do, the only thing we can do really is get loud. Yeah, share this video. Share uh this stuff across social media. Share the article. We have to let people know that this is happening. They are ramping the military up to be on all streets across the country to assist ICE in these [ __ ] raids. I do not care how small your platform is. I do not care if you only have 70 followers. That is how Jim and I started 11 Films. We had zero followers. Just use your platform and get loud and start supporting each other cuz they're coming. and call your uh local and state representatives and and your city council. Call everybody that you can call because um these these ICE folks and the military, they they want uh local complicity, you know. That's right. It's a good point. And and they it makes it a lot easier for them if they have it. So, just make sure that your local elected officials are uh not know that this is happening and that and that they're not being complicit with these ice raids. I love that. Folks, what do you think?
