Intro Fascism. They're not even hiding it anymore. I'm Jim Drastic. I'm Tiffany Drastic. I'm Nick Kudson. And today on the Dangerous Ones, we're talking about a viral video. It blew up this weekend. It was uh an episode of Surrounded from Jubilees Media. They have a viral debate series. And on July 20th, journalist Medi Hassan sat down as a lone progressive voice opposite of 20 conservative participants for a wide-ranging conversation on Trump, immigration, democracy, and American Identity. The episode titled One Progressive Versus 20 Farright Conservatives has already drawn over 4 million views on YouTube and continues to explode across social media. Have you guys seen this? It's crazy. It's insane. It's insane. And we we I we realize a lot of you may have already seen it, too. But we we had to do a reaction show on We had to sound off just in case you didn't cuz you should. And the truth is is if I'm being honest, I was tied up all weekend. So, I actually didn't see it until today. Today was the first time I even heard of this video. I was a little behind on this one. Um so, essentially, let me set the scene for folks that are listening. Basically, Medi Hassan is in the center of a room and he there's 20 farright conservatives surrounding him sitting down and they all kind of get up one by one uh essentially and and talk and they have a little timer and then when the timer goes off they do it again and say what you will about Medi Hassan, that cat held his own. That that guy is no joke. Oh my god, I was scared for him. Like are you okay? Yeah, cuz they call him, you know, oh yeah, they say a lot of bad things. Let's just get right into it with the first video. This is uh a young man named Connor who has some very specific views. Connor Quite frankly, if Trump is anti-constitution, good. I think he should go further. So, this is this is wonderfully revealing of the modern conservative mindset. So, I appreciate you spelling it out so openly. You're saying you don't care about the Constitution, but actually you do cuz you quite like the Second Amendment. You just don't like the bits that you disagree with. Can I just be clear on that? Yeah, absolutely. I'm more than willing to I'm more than willing to amend it and whenever it's in your favor. Yeah, absolutely. So, can Democrats do the same when they're in office? No, absolutely not. Because you don't believe in democracy? No, I don't. Absolutely not. What do you believe in? Autocracy. You're a little bit more than a farright Republican. Hey, what can I say? I think you can say I'm a fascist. Yeah, I am. So, the laugh at the end. The laugh at the end. His face when he's laughing is like where's your humanity? Yeah, that's frightening. I'm just like I is it just because he's young, impressionable, and for some reason thinks Trump is cool. I mean, he's clearly ignorant, you know what I mean? Like what what is happening here? Why is this millennial these are bo mostly millennial genenzies uh in this room. What is this? Yeah. I I think Oh, go ahead. I was going to say brainwashing. I mean, yeah. I mean, the the conservative media infrastructure is so robust and they have lots of people whispering in their ears telling them that they should feel agrieved about that person or that person or that person taking their opportunities and and they're just like, I've had it. Like, I don't want to apologize for being a white dude. Yeah. [ __ ] all of you. And like, let's remake this country to support, you know, me. you know, it's like, okay, that's I think that's how you get groups of people like that, too. You they cuz that's how fascism grows, right? It's it goes after the disaffected, like you're somehow being minimized because another group is getting bigger than you and then they have to find somebody to blame because that's the other way they start is they always keep a list and right now it's immigrants and women. Yep. Yeah. Well, you start with immigrants, right? because they're taking your jobs. And the next it's the trans people because they're going to make your kids gay. And then it's the teachers are trying to get into the minds of the youth. And then it's, you know, they slowly chip away, right? And this is not an idea. These camps are being built. They're being advertised. Alligator Alcatres. Are you kidding me? It's like a tourist thing now. And you guys are laughing about it and trolling people about it. That is sick. Yeah. I also think that what you said was right is the brainwashed part because clearly this fool doesn't realize that if it if we do become a true fascist state, his life will be much worse. It won't be better just because you're white, brother. You know what I mean? I don't know what to tell you. Just because you're the last one on the train doesn't mean you don't end up on the train. That's a great Everybody ends up on the train. Yeah. So, let's listen to some other folks who were at the uh at the event. I think that this guy was had some uh things to say about Native Americans. Native Americans I am Native American. Whites are Native Americans. What are you talking about? What are you talking about? Whites are Native Americans. Really? I I think What was happening before the 1500s? I think you're getting confused with I don't mind going before the calm down. I think you're getting What was happening before the 1500s? Uh there was indigenous people here that came here from You know what indigenous means? Listen. before indigenous people come from somewhere else. Why do you ask a question if you're going to interrupt? I'm not sure if you know what the meaning of indigenous means. I do know what it means. It means they came here first, right? They came here from Asia by way of landbridge. Have an argument with Neil Degrass Tyson or anybody else about that. I don't care. I genuinely don't care. Yes, he is. My my point is my point is okay. Nothing to do with crime. So far, you've agreed with me that these people think you're derailing, dude. I'm like I'm trying to You literally sat down and asked me where I'm from. I think you derailed this conversation from the get by that. But I'm not offended. Just wondering what it has to do with crime. Always curious. We're going to talk about immigration. Don't worry. Later on, you can come back. I hope so. Right now, you're doing a very bad job of making the case that he's not pro crime. Got a round of applause. I probably get another one actually if I ask for it. So, so I I don't think you get rounds of applause. You sit in a room with 20 people who agree with you. Wow. Amazing. Amazing. That must be this. You know what? I'm actually agree with you. I'm emotionally outraged right now. This is This is great. Do I have to say anything at this point or you just going to keep going? No, please make make your claim. Well, my claim is that I don't care if it's pro crime. You want to go back to the topic of conversation? That's fine. We agree then he's proimer. I have a question for you though. Do you care on the opposite side of the spectrum? Yes. Do you care about law being administered to the opposite side of the spectum? I think anyone who assaults a police officer shouldn't be pardoned. I think that Donald Trump shouldn't have pardoned nine Republican members of Congress who were convicted of crimes. And I don't think Joe Biden should commit I don't think Democrats should pardon Democrats. Fair. But I don't think you understand where we are in the US. That I think I do. So yeah, so there you go. So first of all, the guy has no understanding of who or what a Native American is. And uh and he was also uh if you listen to that full conversation, they're talking about how Donald Trump is pro crime and that guy was arguing that like I don't care if he's pro crime, fine, whatever. It's like what the [ __ ] are you talking about? You guys are supposed to be the law and order. Like it's all like I just can't believe that people can't get their heads around that they're being scammed. That's my biggest problem. Yeah. What do you think? I mean it's interesting you you hear the sort of influence of the conservative media and they they have these little things like the land he mentioned the land bridge. Yeah. Like inserting that is strategic because he's making the point like oh well there weren't people here at some point. it was like 20 30,000 years ago or whatever during the last ice age. Um but then they came over the land bridge from Asia and and so they're not really native anyway. So like what's native? It's a like it's it's a it's a way of just asserting uh doing sort of mental cartwheels to to say I was here first to say to to be able to say yeah I'm I'm native to I mean it's just it's sick. Yeah. It's just sick. It's the It's classic propaganda. They take a little tiny grain of truth and then they they just build this whole [ __ ] thing around it. And the other thing about fascism is they stake their claim on being law and order. Right. Right now it's about the border. It's about droves of immigrants coming to take our jobs. I have been on this planet for 50 years. I've never had an immigrant take my job. No ever in my entire life. Nobody I know. That's not happening. No. There's not. Is immigration broken? Absolutely. Are there steps that need to be taken? Does it need a complete [ __ ] overhaul? Absolutely. But they're not coming after your white daughters. They're not coming after your jobs. They want you scared and acting out of fear so that you forget your humanity so they can get away with this [ __ ] Yeah. And what these guys are not realizing is that what they have been made scared of is not exact. It is not the problem. The problem is is these the like Donald Trump and most of these Republicans, almost all of them don't care about you. They don't care about you. They don't care if you make it in life. They don't care about you. They want as much money now. They want to take all the silverware while they can. And when they die, they don't care. They don't care about their grandkids because they don't care about climate change. They don't care. And that you are just a pun. You're being scammed. You know what I mean? They also wanted to escalate to a violent level. Like if we pick each other off, if there's a civil war between us because we love people and you guys don't or whatever they're going to make it about now, they can exert their power over both sides of us. It is not us that is [ __ ] each other over. Okay. It it is not. What are we doing? Yeah. Yeah. What are we doing? Yeah. We've reached a new level of of like this is not feeling like America anymore. And I don't want to I don't want it going this way. Yeah. There was one more clip I wanted to play uh of another gentleman who uh was on the show and uh you know he's just got a whole bunch of radical ideas too. Let's just see. Immigration My claim is that immigration especially now and especially for foreign people that have nothing in common with us. It's funny you say especially I've forgotten your name. My apologies. Brian in every in every era there has been a Brian who says I'm not against imrogation just immigration now this is what people said about Italians this is what people said about Irish folks said about Russians Poles and now we're saying about coming across the southern border because you're not being uh you're being a little disingenuous saying I'm only against immigrants now this is a trope disingenuous because it's a trope that's been used by nivists throughout American history and every wave of immigrants has come in and faced the same hate and animous and bigotry and lazy trope and every wave of immigration has ultimately assimilated integrated benefited the country. In fact, assimilation right now, according to Jacob Victor from the University of Washington, assimilation rates based on language and citizenship and naturalization are higher now than 100 years ago. Okay, let me make a statement first. I think that you and your statement you and your you and your own person are a complete perfect example of why immigration is negative and why we shouldn't allow people who don't have anything in common with us. You're pro abortion. You're pro youth in Asia. You're pro euthania. Yeah, you went I've I've seen your stuff. You you you've defended euthanasia. Pro euthanasia. Yeah. On Pierce Morgan. No, I've never discussed euthanasia with Pierce in my life. Okay. So, my point is that you don't agree. Actually, I'm the guy in this country. If anyone watching at home, I'm the only guy here who actually supports American values. Democracy, free speech, the constitution. I've got folks here telling me they don't believe in democracy, but they're nationalist. Wait, why should we why should we care about that? By the way, isn't that what America stands for? What does America stand for? So, you hate what America stands for? Not me. And in fact, all the studies show that im immigrants actually are more patriotic. The only reason American, it's just this is racism, you know, and and these people are brainwashed, you know. It's just classic white supremacy. It's just classic fascism. And the fact that we're debating on if it's too radical to call it what it is is astounding. It is really fun to watch him like just beat them down. He does a really good job. And like they're racing to get up there. Like it was [ __ ] weird. Like I just I What is going on in your like what are you eating? When's the last time you called your mom? Did your dad ever love you? Cuz holy [ __ ] So the question is is what can we do about it? And I think the best thing and you tell me, Nick, I mean I think the best thing that we can do about it is continue to spread the truth uh across our social media and in in-person uh moments. Yeah. I mean these these are not popular views. Yeah. That are being espoused here. And so like yeah, use whatever reach you've got to um show people that this is th this is the energy that is at the very very base of MAGA. Yeah. And people need to know that. Yeah. Like people are in denial about it even now because I don't want to get to a day where kids like that get promoted at their job instead fired immediately when their job hears about that kind of [ __ ] Like we have got to bring back shame and like in real life when people do that [ __ ] you have to immediately call it out in life. Not just spread other people doing it, but like you got to do it. Yeah. And if you don't mind me uh Nick giving you a shameless plug over here. I think it's an incredibly uh effective way that we can all fight back and spread the truth. Absolutely. And yeah, we're going to be pivoting a little bit here in 2025, the second half of 2025 to really sharing. So what Demcast does is we recruit people to share content on their social media feeds so that the people in in their social media sphere of influence see that content and get the message whatever the message is. And what we're really going to be focusing on is um narrative stories come like first person narratives coming from largely from Tik Tok and Instagram um and uh you know where people are talking about the impacts of the Trump administration on their lives. So, it can be it can be a video of a little girl crying on the street corner cuz her dad just got thrown in the back of a van, you know, for with ice. Uh it can be uh somebody talking about their uh you know, kid with disabilities that they're afraid is not going to get served in the public schools anymore because of all the cuts of public education. Yeah. So, so we're going to be really really focusing on narrative storytelling. That's the best way. Yeah. I love that. I love that. Yeah. Yeah. No, I mean, and I'm I mean, we're part of Demcast, too, and I I just think that that's the way to do it. First person stories, you know, if somebody walks up to you and and and spouts off crap like what these guys are saying to you and uh you know, listen, and you can also do one better.
