Trump's budget exposed. 10 ways the bill destroys America. I'm Jim Drastic. I'm Tiffany Drastic. And today on the dangerous ones, we're talking about the most dangerous piece of legislation we've seen in years. It just passed the House along party lines 218 to 214. Shocker. I'm so pissed about this, folks. This is not a happy moment. It's now heading I got my 90s hair in. Sorry. Sorry. That's how bad it is. That's how bad today is. It's now headed to the president's desk. They're calling it the big beautiful budget bill, but there's nothing beautiful about it. It rips healthc care away from millions, slashes food assistance, guts climate action, and hands billions in tax breaks to the ultra wealthy. All while blowing a $3.3 trillion hole into the federal deficit. This isn't policy. It's payback for the rich and punishment for everyone else. We want everyone to be armed with the truth. So, we're here to give you the 10 most brutal facts about today's bill that just passed. Um, it's hot off the presses. Buckle up, you guys. Buckle up. We're going to kind of jam through these. We don't have a lot of time. And look, some of these numbers, I'm sure, will change, but this is what we know so far. We want you to be armed. So, when you're talking with your friends, your MAGA friends, if you got them, uh, you can tell them this is what's going on. You ready? Here are the top 10 ways the big beautiful budget bill destroys America. Number one, Medicaid cuts. 12 million lose coverage. The bill's work requirements and eligibility changes will result in 12 million people losing Medicaid coverage over the next 10 years. According to the CBO, adults aged 19 to 64 would be required to prove 80 hours of work, job training, or volunteering per month to keep their coverage. These administrative and legal hurdles, especially in states with limited resources, uh will result in millions of people being kicked off Medicaid. These cuts will primarily affect non-elderly adults. Don't worry, that's coming in number two. And low-income families currently enrolled in Medicaid. Uh many would lose coverage not because they're ineligible, but because of red tape, paperwork lapses, or failure to meet the new requirements. Number two, 7 million lowincome seniors will have their benefits slashed. By the way, that's how they get away with it. They say, "Oh, no. We're not cutting uh we're not kicking anybody off uh Medicaid." Right. Well, technically, in a sense, for seniors, they're not. They're just slashing all the benefits that are in Medicaid. Oh, okay. You know what I mean? Uh so, more than 7 million low-income seniors who rely on Medicaid to help cover Medicare costs will lose that support and face increased out-ofpocket expenses. seniors who rely on both Medicare and Medicaid, a group known as dual eligibles, double dippers, you know, they're they will see it slash. Medicaid helps these low-income seniors pay for things uh Medicare doesn't cover long-term care like nursing homes, co-pays, premiums, prescription drug costs, you know, the important [ __ ] you know, because you don't have enough income to afford those things. So, you get these things for working your whole [ __ ] life into this system. Exactly. And uh when Medicaid is slashed, these seniors remain enrolled in Medicare uh but lose extra financial and care support that Medicaid provides. So, while they won't be dropped from Medicare, many of the poorest elderly Americans will face higher medical costs, reduced services, or institutional care loss, especially those in nursing homes, uh, many of which depend on Medicaid reimbursement to keep these beds available. Folks, it's an absolute bloodbath in Medicaid and Medicare out there. And for what? For so some billionaires can get some more money. That's exactly right. It's not It's This is just when Is everybody getting this? Can everybody hear us? What the [ __ ] What the [ __ ] dude? It's Defcon 1. Look it up. And And there's nothing happy about this one. Tiffany, what is number three? Number three, SNAP work rules are extended to age 64. [Music] Right now, if you're an adult getting food assistance through SNAP, which is food stamps, you generally have to meet work requirements until age 54. After that, you're exempt, right? Cuz everybody knows when you're older, it's hard to find a [ __ ] job. It's hard. But under this new bill, the work rules would expand to include people up to age 64. That means if you're 55, 60, and 63 and getting food stamps, you suddenly have to prove you're working, job training, or volunteering at least 80 hours a month or you risk losing these benefits. So, in plain English, if you're 62 and struggling to find work, the government can now just make you jump through a bunch of hoops just to keep food on your table. And they're they're very good at that. And and let's face it, Trump and the GOP doesn't want you to have SNAP benefits at all. If they could take them all from you, they would. and they might still. Uh so basically now uh the requirements for proving work, volunteering and all that which some folks at 64 can't do um are now required uh or will be required to do that that they never had to do before and everything was going along just fine. It's it's not the benefits and the poor people that are breaking the system. We already know that. Number four, ends clean energy credits by 2027. Tax credits for solar, wind, electric vehicles will end five years early under the bill uh eliminating an estimated 280 billion in clean energy investments. Folks, I mean, we own an electric vehicle and when we bought the vehicle, one of the great benefits was is that we got a little tax break. It wasn't huge, but we got a little tax incentive to buy an electric vehicle and it has, you know, it was fantastic. It was great during the pandemic because you're just tooting around town, so you don't need to buy gas. We didn't put gas in that car for two years. And plugging it plugging it in every night was cheaper than having a teenage daughter at home using up all the hot water. It was like the best investment of all time. Yeah, I [ __ ] love that car. So now they're going to kill all these credits for solar, wind, and electric vehicles. I think that's why uh that's one of the reasons why Elon's up in arms. And you know what I mean? Poor baby. Yeah. What will he ever do? Tiffany, what is number five? Number five is 60% of these tax cuts go to the top 20%. [Music] The Tax Policy Center reports that 60% of the bill's tax benefits will go to the wealthiest 20% of Americans. Households earning less than 35,000 per year would receive an average tax cut of guess how much? How much? $150. So, if you earn less than $35,000 a year, you know, when they talk about, oh, no, we gave tax cuts to the middle class or the or the or the working poor, uh, but folks are getting $150 on average. $150 [ __ ] dollars. While billionaires are reaping hundreds of thousands to millions in tax cuts that that don't need it because they already have money. It's ridiculous. So, if you earn 35,000, you get a buck 50. If you earn millions, you get millions. That's right. H Yeah, seems legit. So, and we knew that was coming, right? They always I mean the let's face it, number five is the reason why they do these things. Well, they hate us. That's the real reason is they want to give tax breaks to the ultra wealthy, their friends uh like for money that like listen to how psychotic that is for money. For money that they already have that if they didn't have they didn't feel it anyways. That's that's what I'm not understanding. Like, explain it to me like I'm five. The number six way the bill destroys America, it adds $3.3 trillion to the deficit. The bill is going to add $3.3 trillion to the federal deficit over the next decade, largely due to the tax cuts and increased interest costs. The interest, oh my god. Which which means, folks, let me put that in plain plain English. My kids and their kids are gonna be paying for this stupid bill. You know what I mean? Boy, if you didn't want to have kids before, man. Oh my goodness. I get it. Millennials, I get it. Yeah. Tiffany, what is number seven? Number seven is it slashes domestic aid and funds the wall. The bill increases funding for Trump's border wall and the military while cutting $13 billion from non-defense programs, including housing, education, and public health. So, let's talk about just for a half a second how ridiculous that is. They're going to fund a border wall that everybody who lives on the border says it doesn't even [ __ ] work. But didn't the people who vote for him voted for him because he said we wouldn't be paying for it? Right. Wasn't Mexico paying for that wall? Right. Well, that certainly didn't happen. It doesn't work. And now, but it's his big ego wall. A conman president who lies. Oh my god. I can't even laugh. I'm so angry. You know what I mean? I know. It just really like Yeah. Number eight, the irreparable harm that will happen to hospitals. This bill doesn't just cut Medicaid, it threatens to collapse the entire safety net that hospitals rely on to serve their communities. Here's why. A huge chunk of Medicaid funding goes directly to hospitals, especially those in rural areas, low-income neighborhoods, and underserved communities. When people lose Medicaid coverage, they don't stop getting sick. They just show up at the ER with no way to pay. Obviously, the American Hospital Association has warned that these cuts will cause irrepitable harm to the US health care system. If millions of people lose coverage, hospitals will be flooded with unpaid bills, forcing them to reduce services. Because remember, hospitals are for-profit companies. They're going to have to lay off staff or shut down entirely, which basically means we've all heard the term food deserts. Yep. Folks, a lot of people across the country over the next few years are going to be living in hospital deserts. I I'm not trying to fear monger. It's what's happening. What like what are you going to do if you if you have a heart attack? If you have if you fall and break your leg or like you got to wait for an ambulance, you're driving 100 miles or more. You know what I mean? That's what it means. You know, imagine we we often go out to central Oregon, uh you know, when we have a special occasion and there's a hospital about about 13 miles away from where uh we we are. And if that hospital was not there, it's easily 50 miles, if not more. So, we're talking you are looking at a hospital desert. And by the way, folks, we're telling you all this stuff not to fearmonger. telling you this so you can share it with your friends and share it with your MAGA friends. Share it online. Use your social media. Push this stuff out there. And can I say one more thing? Yeah. I I I'm on one now. Listen to your old pal Jim. I am so upset with everybody who did not show up and vote in last November's election. What the [ __ ] This is exact. It just came to pass, folks. Here we are. Yep. Here we are. How could you not show up and vote? How How could you not vote? I just I Okay, you know, folks, uh you know, everybody who are fans of this show, we can't thank you enough. We just hope you'll spread uh the word about what's going on and encourage everybody from now on. It's not I'm not trying I'm not trying to scare you about what's coming. This is here now. It's here now. So, get ready. Yeah. This is how you get I you just get ready. Just get ready. Tiffany, what is number nine? Number nine is states must pay for SNAP. For the first time, states would be required to help fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, likely forcing many to reduce benefits, tighten eligibility, or exit the program altogether. Now, this is uh one of those things where it's like states uh that have uh less money are obviously going to be getting less federal dollars for SNAP programs. So, thus, they're going to have to make that up. They are obviously not going to make that up. thus reduce benefits in those states. Folks, folks, listen, there's a lot of beautiful blue dots in red states. So, I'm not talking to you guys. I'm talking to the the the Trump voters in red states who are in poor red states. Listen, I'm not here to talk down to you. I'm just here to say, please wake up. What are you thinking? You are about to You're about to find out. The [ __ ] around already happened. You're about to find out, man. And I just hope I just pray I literally pray that you wake up and and and uh turn your life around and start realizing that he doesn't care about you. The Republicans don't care about you. They only care about their you're not going to get anything from them. Your life will not be any better in three and a half more years. Especially now. Uh okay. I'm I'm hot today, man. Me too, dude. Like just the the food stamp thing like really [ __ ] sticks in my cro dude. Like hold on a second. How much time you got? Oh, nice. When I was a single mom, I was on food stamps for a really long time. Yeah, my food stamps got cut one time. It was like right around the crisis of 2008. I think they went down $75. And back then it was like, you might as well have just [ __ ] just just taken it all to come up with an extra $75 to feed the kids. That's when the kids start coming home and having dinner and they're like, "Mom, are you going to eat?" And you're like, "Oh, I had a we had a meeting at work today." I saw you actually do that a few times. Yeah. It's so [ __ ] up. And like I just I just how hard I had to work to get through that to get on the other side of it like where we are now. It was really hard and like I still carry my food stamp card around with me to this day. Do you do? Yeah. Do you have it? Yeah. It's right in my wallet. Are you serious? It's right here. I keep it in here. I never take it out every time I switch wallets. Yeah. I just as a reminder what this means how hard it was then and now all the cuts, dude. Like what the [ __ ] Yeah. You work so hard to get off of this so you don't need it. You don't have to like cuz the kids know when you're putting in this card. Yeah. And their friends's moms aren't. Yeah. When you're standing there on wick. Yeah. You know, it's so [ __ ] up. And your kids are on free lunch. Oh my god. and they're just like their clothes are raggedy, their shoes suck, you know, it's really hard. It's really hard, you know. And I would say, and listen, I've been on food stamps, too. And now I've worked my whole life. I have worked, you know, me like like I every moment I have a chance and you've worked your whole life. Nobody wants a free ride. But there were times of course there was a couple of times where you know you just found yourself out of a job for a short period of time and food stamps were absolutely I mean just a gamecher in helping you uh in your life and and and so to hear that all of these people are going to get these massive cuts to food stamps to the SNAP program is just I mean I don't know if there's really anything more heartbreaking. keep my [ __ ] uh electric car tax credit. Fine. Give the give the money back to SNAP for God's sakes. Have some heart. You're gonna say to lowincome seniors who are like, you know, they're they're in their 70s now. If you think about their biggest working years was the 70s and the 80s, okay, which those days that was like the golden age of capitalism, right? That [ __ ] is over. And they scrimped together, you know, 1,500 bucks a month. and that's to qualify for Medicare and Medicaid together. And now you're going to take one or both of those things away because you don't want them to have both. Are you [ __ ] out of your mind? Yeah. Yeah. That is so cruel. Just because you've had money your entire life and you can't fathom the need for these systems and how it is literally a lifeline for families everywhere. Just because you've had money and you don't understand like why can't they just like buy it? Because we [ __ ] can't. Yeah. Yeah. Because we are we all weren't born with bone spurs and a rich daddy, right? You know what I mean? You [ __ ] Yeah. And to be perfectly honest with you, I'd rather not have that [ __ ] kind of life anyways. And uh even now, don't get it twisted. Uh you know, uh you know, for everybody listening to us, Tiffany and I and Nick, uh you know, we don't we don't make a lot of money off the we don't make hardly any money off. We're here for the ls, everybody. We're here for the ls, man. We're here to spread it because I was born and raised a progressive person. I was born and raised by a couple of hippies. And I I believe strongly in taking care of everybody else. Yeah. And if we're going down over this and you voted for this, we're taking you down with us. [ __ ] you guys. Yeah. I mean, if you still believe in this this crap, you know. And then finally, number 10, uh lowincome families net negative. What that means is for many low-income working uh working-class families, the value of lost benefits outweigh the limited tax cuts they receive. Meaning that $150 that you got, if you make $35,000 or less, you're going to maybe get $150 off your your taxes. The benefits that you're losing overall is a net negative for you entirely, right? We have got to get loud together because you can't I'm not going down without a fight. You're not going to take all this [ __ ] away from the poorest of my neighbors and then I'm just like, "Oh my god, who cares?" Yeah. And the truth, that's a really good point because the truth is is that and I'm not making this up. Tiffany and I with 11 films, we were making uh political videos and we were doing just fine. We started this podcast solely because when we lost in November, uh there was a clear need for additional uh voices out there and just the way the tide kind of turns, podcasts are are more what people are looking at these days. Obviously, we're going to continue to make 11 Films videos, but we started this podcast uh not to make money. Clearly, we are doing it because we want to be we want to help other people create political content. We want you to create political content.
