Trump's Gen Z support is tanking. I'm Jim Drastic. I'm Tiffany Drastic. I'm Nick Ken. And today on the Dangerous Ones, we're diving into the quiet rebellion brewing among Trump's youngest supporters after flipping a generation of young men in 2024 with promises of power, masculinity, and more jobs. Trump is now watching that support slip fast. Weird. From broken economic promises to the Epstein fallout, Gen Z isn't buying what he's selling. And the quote unquote manosphere that once crowned him king might be the first to pull the plug. Let's dig in. Wow. G. So, they're losing support. Oh, wow. Buyer's remorse, you say? Buyer's remorse. Well, listen. Wild. Come back. Come back to reality, I say. Come back. Come back. His promises were empty. I know he's not going to release the Epstein files. Shocker. Shocker. Cuz he's in them. Wonder why. Uh so if you don't know, there was an article in Bloomberg the other day and the headline of the article was young voters who swung right are already regretting it. And there's a bunch of stuff backing up. And I know Tiffy, why don't you read a little excerpt from the article cuz it's really important. Okay. The gains Trump made in 2024 were due to his strength among young men with a majority backing Biden in 2020 and then switching to Trump four years later. So 56% backed Biden in 2020 and 56% backed Trump in 2024. Big swing. Trump did this by marshalling support among key figures in the manosphere, promising a masculinist agenda and administration, one where men didn't have to apologize. Backing Trump was for some young men a vote for traditional masculinity. Some focus group participants said it was essentially a vote to make men great again. On this score, Trump has delivered in spades, elevating men like Pete Hegathth and Elon Musk and waging war on DEI in all forms. Trump has also delivered as a culture warrior, targeting transgender Americans, including banning them from serving in the military and restricting access to gender affirming care for young people. Legislatively, Trump has delivered on campaign promises like no taxes on tips, a pledge that resonated with young men in particular. But Trump has failed to deliver in tangible ways on two fronts that are important to his base and especially to young voters. The economy and Jeffrey Epstein. That's right. I mean, first of all, when you think of the economy, the the jobs numbers, I mean, he fired the person just so he can get a different guy in there who will lie about the jobs numbers. I don't like the numbers. You're out of here. I do like the numbers. the and then housing. I mean, you name a Jenzie that can afford a house right now. Name a me who can afford a house. I can't do that. Yeah, that's not a thing. Um, on top of inflation, on top of tariffs, on top of property tax, if you do own a house, you know, everything's skyrocketing. That's exactly right. And so that brings me actually so since he's losing support we're seeing and we're going to get into it more. We have a couple of Jenz's extremely smart influencers who are also taking uh matters into their own hands. You guys are going to love them. You're going to love them. They're going to join us in just a second to give us their take on what's going on. But since he's losing so much support uh among the young voters, mostly men who voted for him, our comment question of the day is, what should the left do to get the Gen Z vote back? Okay, so they're running from Trump. So that's today's comment question of the day. What should the left do to get the Gen Z vote back? Let us know because apparently they they're going to need some help. The left needs help in drawing these guys back. I mean, seriously. And and it's also like, you know, I can't believe I got to say this, but like in 2024, there was like a cool factor that Gen Z thought of when they thought of Trump, right? I I think it's the same thing that fooled Gen X in the 80s about him. Like he just he's got a silver tongue. He can tell you anything and people will just buy it. And by the time you realize that he's a con man, he's already skipped town and didn't pay his bills. It's so tragic, too, because this generation is literally the generation that has active shooter drills, you know, all through all through school and and the planet's [ __ ] melting and they're the ones who are going to have to deal with the aftermath of that. And it's terrible. And and everything everything that this administration is doing is like counter to to the welfare of humanity. Yeah. Our future. And let's not forget he doesn't give a [ __ ] about people in the world. Absolutely not. No. And and 80-year-old billionaire Republicans never did. They don't care about you. They're not going to be here when the planet melts down. They don't give a [ __ ] that the bills are due. They're going to go hide in their in their bunkers. That's exactly right. So folks, please real quick like, subscribe, uh, and let us know what you think the left should do to get the Gen Z vote back. You can also call us at 5032124600 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can leave up to a fivem minutee message and you can remain anonymous. Sorry, I got to take a hit of this thing. Yeah, it's cuz I yelled. U, it's not cuz you started smoking at 10 years old and I saw you on the playground when we were kids. Get out of the house. Get out of here. Go walk out the door, young lady. Lies. I was smoking. This show is the patriarchy. Yeah. GTFO. I'm losing support for Tiffany. How about that? Um, okay. I'm out. That's it. So, as promised, we've got a we got some expert Gen Z's to give us what they think. Our guests today are not just influencers. their boots on the ground activists who spent the summer of 2024 traveling across the country stopping in Republican held districts as part of the tour to save democracy. Their mission to flip the district's blue. They've now launched a sharp nobullshit podcast called America Matters on a rising new network called The Siren. Ladies and gentlemen, it is our pleasure to welcome to the Dangerous Ones our friends Sam Schwarz and Micah Iran. Gentlemen, welcome. Hey. Hey. Thank you so much. Hey. Yeah. Welcome to the show, guys. Hey, first of all, congratulations on the new podcast. How's it going? And are you getting your sea legs? Um, yeah. I mean, we're we're like finding our our way through it. Like we're we were before the show we were talking about like keeping it short because of the dopamine and like that's what we are trying to do as well. Like we're trying to find what works with the algorithm. Mike is better at it than I am and he knows more about the we pray to the algorithm gods every single night every day. We had a we we had some video performance improvements recently. So we're very thankful. We're making progress. You guys are great. And congratulations on on the launch of the uh the the network. It's not easy to do. It's an extremely hard, you know, a lot of people think, "Oh, you just turn on a mic and [ __ ] go." Oh, really? Well, not if you want people to watch it, that's for sure. Yeah. You have to you have to make an LLC, which is like not something that I'm that good at. So, a lot of Google searches, we're done. Nothing wrong with that, man. And not only that, you guys are are younger and and you're doing it by the time you're Tiffany's age. Uh you will be fantastic. You guys will be enormous. Gosh. But uh that was that was I'm shade. Sorry about that. See what I'm dealing with? Yeah. Gosh. Uh okay. Uh so today obviously we're talking about that Bloomberg article and about how support among Jenzie men is waning and it's turning out that it's because of they're saying uh the economy and Epstein. And I want to just actually start with do and I I realize you don't speak for all Jenz's but do jenzes give a [ __ ] about the Jeffrey Epstein situation especially Jenz men. Yeah. I actually do speak for all Gen Z. We are glad we have you here. Yes. Yeah. But in all seriousness like yes I think I think a lot of Gen Z does care. But it's more though that they just care about Jeffrey Epstein. I think that they like a lot of people were voting for the first time in 2024. a lot of young Gen Z men. And when we talk about like why did they go towards Trump like I'm sure we'll we'll talk about all of the intricacies more and we you know we need to spend like an hour to talk about like really everything but I guess you could sum summarize it most by saying like people are finding their news on social media now more than ever and it's this thing called the manosphere which is basically through social media you're scrolling on Tik Tok you're scrolling on Instagram you're seeing like all the for you page algorithm stuff and you we Mike and I call you get redpilled, which is that you are, you know, you're in like the fitness influencer ecosystem and or gaming or just really any content that men watch. It's really any little niche on the internet and you all of a sudden can be like, how do I how do how to bulk, right? That could be a search you do and all of a sudden the guy who you're learning from has a MAGA hat on or he's like saying that Democrats are weak snowflakes. And so like you as like an apolitical young person, you're like, "Oh, what the hell? I'm not going to vote for Kla Harris then because I don't know that's it's just not that's not what my guy is telling me, right? And so like there's a million different ways in which this this happened during the 2024 election, but big ones for me were their Republicans huge investment over the last 40 years and the last 10 years in purely social media to basically dominate on social media in such a way that all of the news that you were getting was just from MAGA influencers like you on Twitter. Mike can talk more about this, but another big thing is that they were they were Donald Trump was doing way more podcasts with these new new media manosphere bro podcast like the ne boys who are former Canadian pranksters who moved to the United States. They're not really known for politics except they did a show on their podcast which is the full send podcast with Trump and uh Aiden Ross who's one of the biggest Twitch streamers did a show with Trump and that you know that that reaches hundreds of thousands of people probably millions because it gets clipped and put all over uh social media and so that's what we're up against and we don't really have that like everyone talks about who's the liberal who who's the left's Joe Rogan and like I don't there isn't it doesn't exist right it used to be Joe Rogan that's who it used to be um But yeah, Mike, why don't you why don't you Yeah. So, so yeah, they they ran the gambit on social media. Uh, you know, guys, most young guys are not really paying attention to politics 24/7. They're looking at other stuff because politics is lame and boring and who really wants to be super focused on it. So, the little political news that informs their vote is the news they get whenever they're watching the other kinds of content that they normally watch, right? And Republicans have completely infiltrated that space. I mean, literally every single kind of sub field, uh, gaming, fitness, like relationship advice, all of that stuff has been penetrated by Republicans, and a lot of like, you know, mostly a political creators have let on people like JD Vance, people like Trump, or the broader cast of right-wing aligned influencers like Matt Walsh. I mean, you'll see a video in collaboration with Ben Shapiro or referencing Ben Shapiro in places that you wouldn't really expect it. And so if the only message that about politics that men see is a right-wing message, can we be surprised that they end up voting for the Republicans? I don't think we can be. But the reason why the Epstein story has been important is because that's a message that's broken out into the the content that some men are consuming. They're seeing it in their feeds, right? And this is finally a negative message about Trump that's getting through to them. And there's some other messages that are breaking through them to them right now as well. Really quick before we pass it over, I would uh we had Billy Ray on our show who is a Democratic uh messaging expert and he was saying to us about how uh your average everyday American only thinks about politics four minutes a week. Yeah. So, you know, as you were saying like how Jenz's mostly don't care. I mean, most people it's only four minutes a week and they're spending the rest of their time consuming that other content. That's where Republicans got it right. They drip fed it in there. What do you think? Is the Democratic Party communicating with you guys? What are they getting right? What are they missing? Are they capitalizing on this moment on this on this moment of like now, you know, we're seeing the downturn? I know it just started, but do you think Democrats will capitalize on this? Yeah. Yeah. I I actually I don't think that Democrats have a messaging issue so much as we have a uh an information issue. Like, how can we get our message out really to people? That's the problem that we have. And currently the tools that we have to do that, they don't exist. Like, so that's why when we were talking about the siren, we were like, we need more liberal media networks to build out our own media ecosystem on the left so that even if we had this perfect message from the heavens that was beamed down to us from, I don't know, whoever, Americans still wouldn't actually hear that currently, right? Because our media ecosystem does not exist to the level that the Republicans have been able to build. Uh, we look at what they've done even before social media was a thing with buying up local newspapers and radio stations. Yeah, radio stations. That was the precursor to this, which is now it's like they have millions of bots, AI, Russian, real humans who are on here. That was reported on. Uh so like they have completely dominated this market and it's not even so that like I don't even think when when people are like, "Oh, this this politician, this Democrat should tweak this and we shouldn't use this word." I'm like, "Guys, it's really not that deep." Like we just need more creators. We need more more networks like the dangerous ones, more people like Midas. And and so when we were doing the siren, that was something that we were thinking of. So I I agree. I think reach is a huge issue and you can just see there's been studies on this. If you look across social media platforms, impressions and followers on right-wing content is much higher than on like left aligned or not right-wing political content. But I also think there is a messaging component. Most political messages that young men are exposed to are not explicitly political messages. They're not, hey, like here's my Republican talking point. We shouldn't raise the minimum wage. Like they're not here. we should cut Medicaid like super hard. We should do tariffs. You talk to the average guy who voted for Trump, he probably has no view on any of those things. He doesn't know the first thing about it. The stuff that they're being exposed to like very frequently is this cultural commentary stuff where Democrats are almost seemingly not offering anything but opposition to what Republicans are saying. So the Republicans will be like, "Hey, look at all these women that have these really unrealistic expectations of men. we have a double standard in society where men are expected to make all this money and do all these things and be super attractive and women aren't expected to do anything. Isn't this ridiculous? And there's kind of this loose association between like those kind of unrealistic expectations of women and the Democratic party and the Republican party are the people who think that's BS, right? And so there's a lot of like clips you're going to see. There's the whatever podcast. Andrew Tate, almost all of his political commentary has to relate to the insecurities that men have regarding women. And so we don't have messaging that's like that broadly resonant that that we're actually pushing out there. And the second thing is it's not just about messaging, it's about messenger. People will say like Alyssa Slotkin, you know, like some random senator somewhere needs to say XYZ thing. It's not like the Republican politicians are using any of these talking points that are effective. They have people in these spaces that don't seem like they're politicians, right, that are getting these messages out. Andrew Tate's not a politician, right? Joe Rogan's not a politician. And so we need messengers that are left left aligned that can speak on these issues in a credible way. So we need messengers and we also need a message on these cultural topics. Real quick, then I'll get to to Nick. But I I would say though, but I isn't that haven't we [ __ ] been doing that? Have we not had like every effing celebrity on the face of the planet for the last however many years? Right. But I guess it might be the difference is it's that's the point is it's we had celebrities but now where where the right was doing it uh they have more lifestyle influencers, right? You know where maybe people don't give I mean I don't care what Beyonce thinks or who she votes for. That doesn't that doesn't change my vote, right? But what they're saying is like the guy that you watch, you know, your workout video from is he's got a MAGA hat on. Well, it comes off the latest. Well, honestly, I think what it really comes down to is that the MAGAR Republican message is just purely anger and it's hate and it's shifting the blame to someone else. And that is always easier to sell and market than what we as liberals commonly have which is like a very nuanced approach where you have to look at history to understand it and helping the community and like that's a lot harder to explain and get to have people to understand it than than Trump's message which is just like this immigrant is the reason why you don't have a job and Tate's message is women are the reason why you're lonely and it's all their fault and you know like it's that's that's their message. it's just talk to someone else and it's just there's some deep insecurities that are being spoken to by the Republicans that Democrats need to speak to and it's like, you know, I talked to my cousins which are like pretty apolitical, right? I think they're the the quintessential example. They're like 16 years old. One of them is 18 years old. They get almost no news from politics except from their social media feeds. They know who Andrew Tate is. They think he's funny. Like they've seen some clips of Trump. They don't have super strong uh opinions on him, but like they think deportations are funny. Like like my my uh cousin posted on his story like, "Oh, they gave me the wrong paper. It's not my diploma. It's like a page that says deported." Like they think of that stuff. They're like, "This is hilarious." Because that's the only content that they're receiving. They're not listening to Beyonce. Like they don't even they couldn't list like actors if they tried. The celebrities in their mind are these people online, right? these guys that are talking about like self-help, you know, talking about all like the BS that men have to deal with. And all of those guys are right-wing. Like we have almost nobody. Even the ones that are on the left are not public about it. And that's the big thing. Uh for a long time, these influencers on both sides were pretty private about their political opinions. It was kind of like a taboo thing to talk about politics. But Republicans made a explicit goal to make these guys right-wing and make them explicit about it. That's why they went and did all these collabs, right? Joe Rogan used to be kind of apolitical. They sent every single right-wing pundit they had on his show and eventually he became more right-wing. And so we have to do the same thing. We have to go into these spaces where maybe there aren't they aren't liberal or leftwing already and win these people over so we can get the kind of man media ecosystem more aligned with our side. And it's not like guys, it's not like um the future is super bright for young men right now. I mean, the the economy is just going to keep uh tanking like uh housing's unaffordable, raising kids is hard and and really expensive. Like is a house Yeah. Is there is there a um is there an economic uh appeal that we can be making to to young men that clearly like Republicans can't make because they don't believe in public policy that actually helps people? Absolutely. I mean, I think that's one of the reasons why we're actually gaining ground with young men right now. So, I think it's all about the insecurities and frustrations that young men had. One of them was economic, and that's something that Trump took advantage of. But now, people are seeing that Trump's not making the economy better. It doesn't matter what they say about all this trillion dollars of investments so on and so forth. Unemployment is up. Inflation is up. That's the stuff that people pay attention to and they're going to be increasingly upset about it as Trump's promises fail to be delivered over time. And this is the opportunity for Democrats and the left more broadly. Whenever left-wing groups have won around the world, it's been on economics, right? We don't have like we're not going to scapegoat immigrants. We're not going to scapegoat women. we're just not going to do because it's not true. But we can talk about an economic system that is rigged by certain groups. Right? And so that's the compelling message that we need to put forward. We need to talk about all the different practical ways in which the economic equality of life of young men is much worse than it needs to be. It all the different ways in which it could be dramatically better than it currently is. But it's being held back largely because the Republican party is controlled by a variety of economic powerful interest groups who have basically impoverished us all for their own enrichment. Yep. The thing that I always think of when when I'm asked this question or when someone's talking about it is like Donald Trump throughout the election, he went on every single new media podcast with all of these young men manosphere guys and he said just flat out, "If you vote for me, I will make the economy the greatest in the world." like such a such a stupid, insane, impossible statement that like anyone like critical thinking here, it's got to kick in. That's not something that you just do as president, right? It takes a lot of work. And on the other hand, Kla Harris was talking about an 86 page economic. Oh my god. Yeah. Also, even if you had heard, you know, you wouldn't hear about it, right? Because it goes back to the the problem of like our ecosystem versus their ecosystem. So on one hand you have this really I guess it's a it's a lesson right like make your message as simple as possible uh you know keep it keep it simple stupid right like the the old acronym acronym and so like Trump was just basically saying every day I will make the economy the best ever you will have a job everyone will be a billionaire like that's basically what he was saying and of course that's just not true and I don't know maybe we could take a page out of that playbook maybe I'm not saying the next Andy shear should go around saying that like I'm going to make the economy the best ever going to be the most incredible thing ever everyone's gonna have 1000. We can be more specific than that. Yeah, maybe maybe we can offer some more substantive policies here. But that was the other thing. Like I just don't think that people were again no one was seeing the child tax credit policy. It's not that hard. Like we're going to give you healthare, they're going to take it away. Every time they get in power, they try to take away healthcare from people. Every time we get into power, we try to give healthcare to people. This is not hard, right? And like it's just a message that you need to pummel and then you need to get it in front of people. I do think we have to kind of get back down to basics here a little bit like that. I keep going back to that the political gift of Trump in the inauguration in the in the capital rotunda and like every single major tech CEO is behind him. All these billionaires like guys they're spelling it out very clearly for us who their primary interest uh who their who their target audience is who they're really working for here. Yeah. It's not uh you know it's not an 18-year-old college kid. It's it's the 80-year-old billionaire who bankrolled our campaign, right? Yeah. The the other thing with the right, too, is they have the benefit of being able to lie and not have consequences, but uh so him going on saying like, "I'm going to give you the best comedy in the world." Well, he's got no [ __ ] consequences for saying something like that. What difference does it make? It's fun to sit on a lily pad that's just like shit-talking everybody and like blaming everybody else for your problems. It's It's And it gave them a place to sit and just stew in that. But now like a whole evolution needs to take place which is hard and it's on us to to do it for sure. And so listen, you guys are inspiring us. I'm so excited that you guys are part of the fight. Uh and what you guys are doing over there uh at the Siren is fantastic. We need more of this. Folks, to all of our viewers, all of our listeners, if you want to support uh the movement, I encourage you to check out the America Matters podcast. Check out the siren. We'll put links in the description. Uh this is exactly how we are going to overcome what uh these gentlemen said today is absolutely right. It was basically we need more and more of this. Uh any parting words before we leave you guys um for every I don't know for every one big liberal creator they have a hundred bigger ones on the right. And so closing statement we need more creators. And for those of you watching, you should start making content if you haven't, right? Like you should become the people that you're looking for. Uh it's it's easy, you know? Posting on Instagram is practice, okay? Don't go outside. Post more. No, but seriously, I think for a long time, people thought that that being vocal on social media was like a waste of time. That's where people are getting their news now. We know that, especially young people. So, be vocal when you have the opportunity. Uh the world will thank you for it. Absolutely. You guys, thank you. Thank you for it. Yeah, thank you so much. Uh again, thank you to Sam Schwarz and Micah Iran. I mean, fant I get encouraged when I see these guys. And we're going to force you guys to come back on. I know we're going to do a lot of collabs with the Siren. We're super excited. And uh guys, have a great rest of your day. You do. Thanks for having us on. You bet. Wow. I love those guys. I do too. I know. And by the way, uh you know, full disclosure, we've known those guys for for a while now. and uh they are just fantastic human beings. Uh they have a great podcast. They're just getting started and I I fully support I hope everybody goes and and gives them a follow. They are fully dedicated to America. They're working their asses off. Yeah. Democratic messaging. And they brought up a very good point that we bring up too is and we say it all the time on this podcast. Make content. Yes. Everybody out there make content. It's easy to do. We made whole videos about making content. Yes. I don't care if you have five followers. That's how it starts. Yep. Absolutely. Uh folks, please give us a call. 503-212-4600.
